Mazinaw

The name Mazinaw refers to Lake Mazinaw, located in Ontario, within Bon Echo Provincial Park. Like its namesake, the lake holds an ancient memory—deep, still, and inhabited.

The lake is best known for Mazinaw Rock, an immense and iconic granite cliff, rich with Indigenous history and pictographs. The word Mazinaw comes from an Algonquin term meaning something like “images carved into stone.”

Its gaze is calm yet penetrating, as if it knows the secrets etched into the rock. A quiet guardian of inner cliffs, Mazinaw embodies tranquil wisdom—the kind that observes without noise, that understands without imposing itself.
