Naschoba, which means “wolf” in the Choctaw language, embodies the wisdom and freedom inherent in the wilderness. In this work, the wolf is beautifully captured with a subtle duality: on the one hand, its coat is painted with striking realism, every detail revealing the animal's nobility and authenticity. On the other, spatula strokes break up this precision with an abstract sheen, symbolizing Naschoba's elusive spirit and fierce independence. Her deep gaze, turned towards the observer, bears witness to an ancient connection between humans and the animal world, a reminder of our intimate bond with nature and the quiet strength that lies in freedom.
